TREATMENT FOR ACHILLES TENDONITIS IN NEWBURY AND THATCHAM

WHAT CAUSES ACHILLES TENDONITIS?

Achilles tendonitis tends to be an over use injury. This means that it is an injury you get when you have used an area too much.

Who can get achilles tendonitis?

Anyone can suffer from it but it is often seen in runners or other sports people who have increased the activity they are doing over a short space of time.

What does it feel like? How do I know if I have this?

It is often felt as pain or swelling in the bottom of your calf muscle where it attaches to your ankle.

Pain is often felt in the tendon at the back of your ankle on walking, running or generally when exercising.

You may also notice stiffness in your ankle first thing in the morning or when your ankle has been still for a long period of time.

WHAT ABOUT MY FEET?

Often the achilles tendon can be irriated and injured by faulty foot mechanics. This means that the tendon has to work harder than normal to absorb and control the forces of walking and running.

At Total Chiropractic we have cutting edge technology to analysis and assess how welll your feet work and can show if your feet are the root cause of the problem.
